by tot707

This are still associated with my previous article according to tells some of the most symbolize of Bandar Pekan that were my birthplace. Referring to the history, Pekan is said to have existed since the 17th century the town got its name from a type of white flowers such as jasmine and Pekan's flowering grows along the river banks of Pahang. Pekan nicknamed Royal Town City which is the residence of the Sultan of Pahang and the residence of the Raja relatives in Pahang and also the administrative center. Pekan was once the capital of Pahang from 1889 to 1898.

Part of the foods is the most synonymous with Bandar Pekan which is Opor and Puding Raja. Opor is usually cooked during the festivities for mostly wedding receptions and large gatherings. Other than that, Opor there is also a menu for dessert. Puding Raja is derived from the castle and a special menu of the royal family.

The menu usually served as a dessert in the big occasions and a special menu using gold mesh. Gold mesh made from egg yolks and sugar and is the favorite food of the Sultanate of Pahang. Puding Raja is 'trademark' food in Pekan.

Moreover, Murtabak Mengkasar is the famous food symbolizes of Pekan that of the recipe is different from others. The bottom line cook at first. In addition to the core of beef or chicken that is placed in large quantities, a fragrant aroma spice able to amaze anyone.

In line with the modern world, Pekan is also rapidly developing town. An international college has also been built in Pekan. In addition, Pekan is the center of the Hucom Automotive vehicle assembly for global brands such as Volkswagon, Mercedes and etc. The factory also has the only automotive assembly line in the world who could assemble four different models in one channel (Body Shop). Among the attractions that can be visited in Pekan are Sultan Abu Bakar Museum, Gallery Air Transport Pulau Bertam, State Mosque, Tomb of the Kings, Kompleks Budaya Kampung Pulau Keladi, Pekan Sehari on every Sunday and etc.

Thus, Pekan is famous of Pahang Royal Silk Weaving Centre at Pulau Keladi. Pusat Tenun Songket was built for the younger generation to learn the art of weaving songket Pahang. In 1985, the State Museum has made this home as Memorial Museum.

Overall, Pekan is the home of the state's royal family headed by Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta'in Billah Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Abu Bakar Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mu'adzamo Shah. It is also the hometown of the second Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tun Abdul Razak Hussein, and the current Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak. Najib is also Pekan's current Member of Parliament. Unfortunately, I am Malaysian really upset with Datuk Seri Najib on all happened to Malaysia lately. Hope he can fixes for all he have done before.
